This is a picture i'm doing for no other purpose than i wanted to draw a brain. I picked up a couple of medical encyclopaedias from a sale at TAFE and used some pictures in them for reference. The smokey swirl thing was purely because i had just been doing it for my artist book and wanted to practice further. The triangle was also for stippling practice and composition. The plan is to try and colour digitally, something i am very new to and again wanting to practice. I'll post the results as they happen.

First stage of my final Jörmungand
Here is old Jörmungand with water colour ink and some pencil work done. Still going to use some gouache to finish this one off.
Jörmungand ruff 2
Here we have my line drawing for the border I will use and a quick water colour check on the sketch I used for my Jörmungand line work.
Jörmungand ruff
Here is one of the many sketches of Jörmungand I did. The flap parts are an homage to Mer-man from MOTU.
Thumb nail for Norse Mythology
This is a thumb for a page in my "Artist book" brief for school. My theme for the book is Norse Mythology. The plan is to use mixed media, water colour, pencil and gouache. The page will be square with a knot style border. This is Jörmungand one of the children of Loki.
Where to begin?
I'm going to use this space to document my illustration work for the next couple of years. I am currently studying Illustration at NMIT so most of the work will be briefs from classes. The plan is to put up thumbs, ruffs and then final pieces. Hopefully you and I will be able to see vast improvement in my work over my studies.
